The colorfully tiled two-story building located at 3800 East Cesar Chavez Avenue (formerly Brooklyn Avenue) in East Los Angeles was completed in 1927 to house the Brooklyn State Bank. Designed by local architectural firm Postle & Postle, the building was to have four stores, a market and banking rooms on the ground floor, and a banquet hall, lodge room, offices, and apartments on the second floor. It appears the Brooklyn State Bank never occupied the building, as there is no record of it ever doing business at this location. It’s possible that either the bank never received its charter or it failed. In 1944, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles purchased the building for use by the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). CYO opened in the building that same year, creating an important community venue to engage Mexican youth, curb violence, and counter systemic racism related to the Zoot Suit Riots in 1943. With a degree in English and training as a Celebrant, where I learned the art of making ceremonies personal and meaningful, I love to create unique ceremonies for couples, telling their story and writing your ceremony just for you, from scratch. I will add in any elements you may want and the entire ceremony from beginning to end will reflect the two of you. You will have the opportunity to read it over prior to the ceremony and let me know if there is anything you would like changed and I will work with you until you tell me that you love it. No cookie cutter ceremony!

This includes optional airbrush makeup and false lashes. The makeup is waterproof, long lasting, and looks amazing in person and on camera. Veronica also does makeup for bridesmaids and family members. Tattoo and scar cover up are optional add-ons (price ranging from $20-60).

The Full Service Wedding Planning Package includes: recommending, booking, and communication with all vendors, setting up payments and sending reminder emails for payment due dates, developing a theme and design that is perfect for your personality and preferences, keeping track of your budget, creating a planning checklist, unlimited access to me throughout the planning process, 2 site visits, ceremony and dinner rehearsals, set-up and clean-up on the day of, itinerary and schematics, and fixing any hiccups that occur throughout the day.
