Day 1: Arrive in Kigali International Airport Rwanda
After a flight from your point of origin, you land at Kigali International Airport where you will be received by our company representative giving you a courteous welcome and a brief introduction about the country after which you transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Visit the National Institute of Rwandan Museums in Huye (Butare) en route
After breakfast at you place of stay in Kigali, you will embark on the transfer to Nyungwe Forest Natiaon Park 268km about 6 hours’ drive excluding stops en route. The drive will take you through the impressive country side landscapes of the south. You will make a stop in Butare town and encounter the National Institute of Rwanda Museums with one of the largest ethnographic museums in East Africa. The stop will also take you through the Nyanza palace which is a hub of the Rwandan traditions. It the home of the two kings of Rwanda King Musinga and King Rudahigwa that governed the pre-colonial Rwanda. The site features an impressive architectural hut and the Inyambo long horned cows which make it remarkable to encounter. You will have lunch in Butare after which you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Do Chimpanzee trekking in the morning and afternoon Nyungwe canopy walk

After breakfast, embark on the chimpanzee trekking encounter in the prehistoric forests of Nyungwe. The trek starts at 8am commencing with briefing at the park headquarters before proceeding to the forest in search of our closest cousins the Chimpanzees. Walking through the forest and eventually having direct encounter with these chimpanzees for one (1) hour makes the chimp trek memorable. The species thrive in their natural habitats and they are impressive to look at as they munch fruits, roll themselves on the trees, mate and socialize. The activity tends to last between 2 – 5 hours after which you return to the lodge for lunch and short relaxation. In the afternoon, you gather at Uwinka Visitor center to embark on the famous Nyungwe Canopy walk which is the first of its kind in East Africa and the third in the whole of Africa. The canopy walk way us raised to 40m from the ground and it is 90m long hanging above a steep deep valley with impressive scenic views of the landscapes and the flora and faunal species that are found in the area. After a thrilling breakfast from your respective lodge, you will gather at the Volcanoes Park Headquarters in Kinigi at 8am for briefing and the eventual start of the gorilla tracking encounter. The park rangers will give you the situation that surrounds gorilla trekking and the respective dos and don’ts for the very activity while enjoying a thrilling cup of Rwandan coffee and being entertained by the famous Intore dance demonstrating the traditional Rwandan society. Embark on the actual gorilla tracking hiking through the jungle of Volcanoes following the respective assigned gorilla family and in company of those the eight team mates that have been put together with you track a given gorilla group.
