Day Trip to the Aran Islands — price per person
Doolin, Ireland
$22
Planning a wedding in North Clare?
Why not step back in time and take your wedding party to visit the Aran Islands on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.
From the moment you step aboard the gangway, you enter a very different world, where you will be treated to a feast of maritime activity, from dolphins following our wake to flocks of birds fishing around you and small fishing boats setting their lobster pots.
While you are enjoying the boat trip out to sea, there is an air of anticipation as the ship sails ever closer to the Aran Islands. Inis Oírr is just 30 minutes away, and reassuringly visible from Doolin pier. The voyage to the island pier passes some of its famous landmarks en route – the iconic Plassy shipwreck, O’Brien’s Castle and the Dun Formna stoneage fort on the hill, the white sandy beach with its crystal turquoise waters and possibly the most beautifully located graveyard in Ireland.
Coming down the gangway is almost like stepping back in time, where it is easy to picture life in times gone by. On this island for example, you can visit Mairead Sharry who opens her authentic cottage to visitors, where they learn about the traditions, customs and clothing of the Aran Islands from the islanders themselves. Hiking and biking are hugely popular activities and the tiny roads surrounded by limestone walls provide a labyrinth of seemingly unexplored territory.
Treat yourselves to a deliciously fresh seafood lunch at one of the island's little pubs and take the ferry back to the mainland.
We sail daily from Doolin pier, 7 days per week, from March to October. There are 3 daily departures for the Inis Oirr day-trip: 10am, 11am & 1pm.
Our vessels carry between 70 and 100 passengers per ship. Normal price is per person, however if you reserve a group with us, this will be reduced to €15 per person.
