I didn’t plan on becoming a photographer when I grew up.
I went to university, and got myself two degrees, but decided becoming a dentist, a surgeon, or a lawyer wasn’t quite right for me. I was given an old Canon AE-1 by my father, and I set out to travel the world. I spent a lot of time in mountain environments, and when I came back to Canada, I ended up settling in Fernie, BC. My love for the mountains has led me to focus my photography on mountain inspired activities. Whether I am on the side of a mountain in -25C winter conditions with snow blowing all around me shooting for a heliskiing client, or next to a gentle mountain stream in the summer with wedding clients, shooting outside in the mountains has become my specialty, and what gets me out of bed in the morning.
I like to hang out with people and learn about what makes them tick. My favourite clients are ones who love an adventure, aren’t afraid of getting a little dirty, and like to have a laugh. I guess I like working with clients that are kind of like myself. Many past clients are now close friends.
