Andrew Thielen Big Band
Our big band plays up and down the east coast from Massachusetts to Florida playing huge events from the Maryland Governor Inaugural Ball to Betty White’s 90th birthday party to Washington DC & Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association gala to huge annual corporate events in Key Largo.

My big band is one of the only regularly performing big bands in the US. Some big bands do a concert a few times a year and some play for a few weeks for a month or so while on tour. We play every week of the year -all year long.

Why are we so requested? Because we do what made big bands popular with audiences years ago. We play the popular songs of the day that everyone loves….but we do them all with a big band. We play songs of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and even the hits of today all arranged for a big band and sung by great vocalists. Sure we can do a dynamite version of “In The Mood” or perform a great Sinatra tune. But we can also do great songs that people love from Motown, Rock, Neil Diamond, Celine Dionne, Pharrell Williams, Ceelo, and much more. Hear songs like "Sweet Caroline", "Happy", "Old Time Rock & Roll", "Thriller", "Dancing Queen", "Respect", :Boogie Shoes" & more.

Here is another thing different about my big band. We are authentic. We are not a “ghost big band” of some leader who died 65 years ago that probably never met the person leading his band namesake now. Our group is called the Andrew Thielen Big Band and I am the living and breathing band leader and drummer and one of the singers in the band. I have played in drum battles with drumming greats Louie Bellson and Ed Shaunnessy. We do love to feature our big band on a few great “classic” instrumental big band hits as well and the drum solo on “Sing, Sing, Sing” is always a favorite.
